Expert in strategic organisation management, businessman and consultant
Mr. Kolak was born in 1970 in Villingen-Schwenningen, Germany. He graduated from the University of Rijeka, Faculty of Engineering, and earned his Master’s degree at the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture. During the course of his professional career, he gained extensive knowledge in the field of strategic organisation management, as well as in national/homeland security affairs, starting from his university education and then continuing through his professional training at prestigious American and European civil and military schools.
He is an expert in corporate, financial and organisational restructuring of complex business systems, and boasts great experience in management and advisory. This has been confirmed by his successful management of his own consultancy company which focuses on business advisory in ICT solutions, planning, implementing, supervising and managing business strategies, and in corporate management and audit.
He gained his professional experience as director and president of management boards of several companies: DOK-ING for production of special-purpose robotic machinery, King ICT for ICT system integration, Megatrend for ICT distribution, Megatrend business solutions for ICT, and Dalekovod proizvodnja. In 2019, he was appointed Deputy President, and in 2020 President of the Management Board of KONČAR. In the period 2020 – 2022 focus was directed towards restructuring operations with the aim of increasing efficiency and profitability of KONČAR Group and strengthening the segment of digital solutions and renewable energy sources.
As a member of Croatian Armed Forces, he actively participated in the Croatian War of Independence and in the development of the country’s defence system. He took part in the United Nations Mission in Sierra Leone, and continues to be active in the development of the national security and defence system of the Republic of Croatia.
He was President of the Croatian Association of Management Consultants and he lectured at the Zagreb School of Economics and Management. In the period from 2015 to 2020, he was the Secretary of Croatian President’s National Homeland Council.
He was awarded the Homeland War Memorial medal, as well as the Society of American Military Engineers Award for the highest academic achievements among engineering officers, and the United Nations Medal for participation in joint international military operations in Sierra Leone.
He is an active member of numerous business associations.
