Lidija Žigić

President of the Management Board, NLB Banka d.d., Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Lidija Žigić graduated in Management and Economics from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Tuzla and has a master’s degree in management at the Modern Business School in Belgrade (MBS). She successfully obtained a master’s degree in management in the Slovenian language at IEDC Bled School for Managers, receiving a second-level master’s degree in the European Higher Education Area – 120 ECTS.

Since 1993, Lidija has been employed in international organizations in Bosnia and Herzegovina: Italian Consortium in B&H, Unicef, the UN World Food Program in Tuzla, and USAID Business Finance as a Loan officer where started her banking career.

She has been actively employed in the banking sector in B&H since 2003, assuming the several positions (loan officer, Head of Corporate Department and Director of the regional office at the Tuzla Region (Hypo bank). After that, Lidija moved to the position of General Director/CEO of Hypo Alpe-Adria-Leasing d.o.o. Banja Luka. Until the middle of 2014, she performed the duties of a member of the Management Board of Hypo-Alpe-Adria-Bank a.d. Banja Luka. In 2014 she joined NLB Banka d.d., Sarajevo, where she performs the function of Advisor to the Management Board and, upon the authority of the Management Board, performs the function of Executive Director of NLB Banka d.d. Sarajevo. Since January 2015, Lidija has been a member of the Management Board of NLB Banka d.d. Sarajevo in the position of executive director.

In 2017 she took over the position of President of the Management Board (CEO/CMO) of NLB Banka d.d., Sarajevo.

Lidija Žigić has been awarded ‘’Zlatni BAM/Golden BAM’’ in 2019. in the category of successful woman executive in banking and she has been recognized as ‘’Woman of the Year’’ in 2018.
Her key strengths lie in the ability to motivate others, strong commitment, monitoring, and energy. Lidija deeply believes that people are key to success. Based on the various official feedbacks, she is seen as a leader who can anticipate the motivational drivers, clearly communicate the vision and is consistent in execution and promised deliverables.

Lidija’s key achievements during her position as CEO of NLB Banka d.d., Sarajevo in terms of financial aspects include improved operational efficiency (CIR and ROE), sustainable and controlled business growth and full implementation of the strategic goals set in 2016. From the customer perspective, her key achievements include implementation of new products and enhanced sales channels (NLB Pay, NLB SMS Installments, Business debit card for legal entities, packages for SME and Micro clients, installation of ‘’cash in’’ ATMS) and the introduction of bank assurance concept.

During her management of the NLB Banka d.d., Sarajevo, she has ensured full compliance with core values and fundamental principles ensuring legality of operations and compliance with demands of Regulators. Regarding the internal transformations, Lidija has taken upon transforming the key functions in terms of processes within segments: Retail, Corporate, Product development, HR, Legal and Marketing. The corporate culture has been transformed, along with employer branding, placing NLB among the top ten employees in B&H and the second position in the banking sector. Together with MB members, her key achievements include the branding of premises and major renovations of HQ buildings, corporate business centers and improvement of 39% of whole infrastructure. MB led by her transformed NLB Bank perception on the market and as a result NLB Bank is recognized among top 3 banks regarding Brand Recognition in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
